Silky Terriers

The Silky Terrier looks similar to a Yorkshire Terrier. Their eyes are medium sized and
usually brown while their ears are triangular shaped and stand straight up. The Silkies
have a very shiny coat that grows to their ankles in length, which is NON-SHEDDING,
NON-ALLERGENIC and ODORLESS. Their body is small but adoringly broad for it's size.
Their legs are fairly long and somewhat skinny ending with feet which may be likened to a
bunny. The Silky's coat is very shiny although not as long as a Yorkshire Terriers' it flows
down over their whole body. As for colour their coat can come in many variations of blue, tan
or blue and red.
Size & Weight: 9-10 inches tall, 7-11 pounds
Character: Unlike some terriers, this happy little dog was not bred to do any
particular hunting job, but purely to be a companion animal. Nevertheless,
its terrier blood shows through in its active, energetic, assertive nature.
Silkies are extremely loyal to their owners. Silkies are intelligent and eager
to learn and most importantly generally love to please! This means they are
very easy to train and are great cuddlers. Silkies make fantastic
companions. They are loyal, sweet, friendly and are full of energy. Silkies
are not a 'yap yap' dog as some are when barking. They are delightful little
clowns that love to make you laugh!
