Twig is a beautiful dark yellow female - 58 pounds of pure muscle! Twig is very fast and focused. She is very
quiet in the house and in training. She is what I like to describe as a high-drive dog with an off-switch -
meaning that she revs way up for training and competition but can kick it with the family in her down time.

Retrieving: Twig is a tireless retriever and, truth be told, field trials should have been her calling. She is my personal
gun dog and she is a real asset to the hunt. Twig is steady to shot and has a big splash water entry. She is one of
those dogs that learns new things very easily and is always giving 110%. This year, we have started doing a little more
'formal' retriever training, and she has learned to do triples, 200 yard marks and she is started on three hand casting.
Last year was Twig's first season hunting upland and it turns out that she handles well in close quarters.

Agility: Twig measures 21" and trialled once at 18 months, where she did very well and pulled in 2 first place finishes in
her division. Due to our remote location for the past few years she was unable to trial since then but is currently back in
training. Twig is a quick student and an efficient jumper. She has a lot of the gifts that her mother has but has benefited
from better foundation training. Twig is back in the ring now and looking forward to a full season of trialling in 2009!

Tracking: Twig is also schooled in tracking to a TD level. We hope to test her when we can find a test within reasonable
distance, and will continue to progress with her training. She has a great nose and moves very quickly over a trail,
indicating a find with a 'down'.

Other: Skijorring was Twig's main sport as a youngster. She is fast and takes direction well. She is extremely tough
physically and trains under a regime of positive reinforcement. She is injury-free, agile, athletic, and an all-out joy to
train and work with. We look forward to Twig continuing our line of versatile retrievers.
