Twig is a beautiful dark yellow female - 58 pounds of pure muscle! Twig is very fast and focused. She is very
quiet in the house and in training. She is what I like to describe as a high-drive dog with an off-switch -
meaning that she revs way up for training and competition but can kick it with the family in her down time.
Agility: Twig measures 21" and trialled once at 18 months, where she did very well and pulled in 2 first place
finishes in her division. Due to our remote location for the past few years she was unable to trial since then
but is currently back in training and will be back in the ring later this fall. Twig is a quick student and an
efficient jumper. She has a lot of the gifts that her mother has but has benefited from better foundation
training. Stay tuned for results as Twig re-enters the competitive agility arena!
Tracking: Twig is also schooled in tracking to a TD level. We hope to test her when we can find a test within
reasonable distance, and will continue to progress with her training. She has a great nose and moves very
quickly over a trail, indicating a find with a 'down'.
Hunting: Twig is a tireless retriever and, truth be told, field trials should have been her calling. Twig is an
excellent marker and an obsessive fetcher. She is steady on the line and has a big splash entry. She is a
joy to hunt with, working at approximately the JH level with little formal retriever training. We plan to get
into the hunt test scene with her as soon as possible.
Other: Skijorring was Twig's main sport as a youngster. She is very fast and takes direction well. She is very
tough and trains under a regime of positive reinforcement. She is injury-free, agile, athletic, and an all-out
joy to train and work with. We look forward to Twig continuing our line of versatile retrievers.
